Hawthorne Elementary Featured in ASLA’s “The Field”

Loose parts on a public elementary school playground? Yes, we did!

Check out “The Field” (the American Society for Landscape Architects Blog), where I and other design team members tell the story of transforming Hawthorne Elementary’s asphalt schoolyard into a community curated, nature based, loose parts playground.

I’m so excited to see our work at Hawthorne Elementary finally get some more exposure. It’s an important precedent that holds many lessons for those working to improve children’s play environments.
